Our Support Staff
The attorneys of the firm are fortunate to have the support of skilled and competent staff members, including Aletta Myers, Amy Purdom, and Diana Lantz. Most of our staff members have been with us for many years, and we appreciate their loyalty and longevity. They are subject to the same standards, confidentiality and ethics as are the attorneys, and while they are not permitted to provide legal advice, they are a key factor in our ability to provide you with high quality legal services, and you should anticipate working with them as well as with the attorneys.
Aletta Myers
Aletta was born and raised in Toledo, Oregon. Her parents, William and Maxine Smallman, came to Toledo in 1956 from Arkansas.
She had been married to Curtis Myers for 32 years when he passed away in 2007. They stayed in Toledo after their marriage and went on to raise their son, Erik, in her hometown. Erik now has two children of his own, a daughter, Barbara, and a son, Cadence, and lives in Newport. Aletta loves being a grandmother and cherishes the time she gets to spend with her grandchildren.
Aletta is a legal assistant and has worked for the firm since 1992. She provides secretarial assistance to all the attorneys at the firm, but the majority of her work is handling probate and corporate matters as legal assistant to Brian Haggerty.
Amy Purdom
Amy was born in Toledo, Oregon, where she grew up and graduated from Toledo High School. She then moved to Portland where she graduated from Portland Community College in 1991 with an Associates Degree in applied science, legal secretary.
She immediately began work for the Tualatin firm of Martin, Elliott & Long, where she was employed for 2 years before moving back to Toledo to get married.
In 1993, she began her career with the firm, then known as Minor & Boone, P.C. She primarily works for Chris Minor and has the billing responsibilities of the firm.
Amy loves spending time with her husband, Darrin, and their two children, Dylan and Sydney. She also enjoys many outdoor activities and being an active part of her community.
Diana Lantz
My name is Diana. Born in LaGrande, Oregon. Moved to Bend, Oregon in 1961 and then to Newport in 1988. I moved to Newport with my daughter, Tracy, and son, Todd. I joined the firm in 1989 as a legal secretary and receptionist. I later took on the duties of bookkeeper. I took a leave in 1996 to work with my husband. I rejoined the firm in 2001. I have enjoyed my years working here very much. The staff is great! We have a professional, yet relaxed atmosphere in the office. In a business where tension can run high, everyone makes the effort to remain relaxed and calm. I feel that is important to our clients as well.
Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with my husband, Robert, whom I married here in Newport in 1991. Robert does custom cabinetry and I enjoy working with him when I can. Together we have five children. Robert’s three: Jaimie, in Portland, Beckie and Micah here in Newport. My two: Tracy and Todd, in Hawaii. Robert and I like taking walks with our German Shepherd, Teal’c.
I also pursue my love of animals, especially horses, by pursuing my art. I do animal portraits in various mediums, such as colored pencil, pencil sketching, and oils.
